Saturday
WRAP Sessions!
(Within Reach
and Personal)
January 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
25 private colleges statewide are offering a special presentation to reassure prospective students and parents that the personal education we provide is more valuable than ever before and within reach financially, even in today's economy.
We encourage you talk to us first before making any final decisions on where to apply or enroll.

Who Should Participate?
College-bound high school students and/or their parents, especially Class of 2009 and Class of 2010. Families are invited to attend together if schedules permit, but it is not required. Parents can come by themselves, and so can students!
Where?
This is a state-wide event to be held on the campuses of 25 Virginia private colleges with undergraduate programs. Click here for a list of participating colleges.
When?
Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 a.m.
Why?
|
Families are very anxious about the cost of college, especially in today's economy. Virginia private colleges have come together to offer these special WRAP Sessions to:
- Encourage families to talk to us first before making any final decisions about where to apply or enroll
- Reassure parents that private colleges are within reach financially
- Emphasize the value of a private college education - above all, it's personal:
- Small classes taught by professors (not graduate students)
- A campus community that encourages you to get involved and be engaged
- Numerous majors & minors for a customized academic plan
- Opportunities to participate in sports and extracurricular activities
- Academic and career advising from people who know you and care about your future
How Do I Participate?
|
Please choose any one of our 25 colleges. It could be an institution that is close by, one that you have already applied to, or one that you are interested in checking out for next year.
All WRAP Sessions will begin at 10:00 am sharp, with a greeting from either the college president or another senior official.
Since the schedule of events at each campus will vary, you should visit the college web site and call the admissions office to make a reservation for their WRAP Session.
“The weakening economy has not weakened the quality and value of a private college education in Virginia. We understand the financial concerns facing families. However, I would regret students not choosing the college that is the best fit for them because of anxiety about affordability. We want to help, and we urge families to talk to us first before making a final decision.”
Robert Lambeth, President, Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia
