How much is the TAG award?
The exact amount of each academic year's award is determined by both the amount appropriated for the program by the Virginia General Assembly and the total number of eligible applicants. Colleges are only able to provide an estimated award amount to students.
Undergraduate students: The estimated TAG award for the 2010 -2011 academic year is $2,600. This means that students at the undergraduate level could receive approximately $10,000 over four years!
Graduate students: Limited awards of $1,130 are available to graduate students in health professions programs.
Who is eligible?
Bona fide residents of Virginia who are full-time undergraduate students (or graduate students in health professions) enrolled at eligible private colleges in Virginia are eligible for TAG. All members of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) are eligible colleges.

Application forms for TAG can be obtained from the Admissions or Financial Aid Offices of Virginia's eligible private colleges and universities.

How can I receive a TAG award?
Submit a completed application to the financial aid officer at the private institution you plan to attend. In order to be awarded the maximum award amount, you must submit your application by July 31.
